Wyoming Fly Fishing
Wyoming fly fishing is probably under rated compared to some other Western States. But the
Yellowstone area alone makes it a great venue. But the state has many smaller streams and less noted rivers that
are excellent provide excellent fly fishing. Jackson Hole gets all the publicity because it's at the crossroads of
three states but the check carefully with the locals to find other hot streams that are less fished.
The Wind River area and the Upper Green are the favorites of many fly anglers. Torrey Creek, Bull
Creek, and Dinwoody Creek and others are part of the Wind River area are less fished and hot streams. A permit of
$25.00 per day is requried on some reservation areas so check the local regulations.

Hopper Flies for Wyoming Trout
Grasshopper Patterns are some of the best flies for these fish in the late summer and early fall
months. I also like small soft hackles and of course Wooly Buggers always seem to attract some larger fish. When
fishing the larger hopper patterns use a heavy tippet of at least 4x (5-6 pounds) for better control of these
larger flies and also it enables you to horse in the larger fish.
